Scope of Project: Rebuild a failing deck and protect southwest windows from afternoon sun
Client: Private Residence in Ellison, Kelowna
Highlights: Our client contacted us to discuss replacing an aging and possibly rotten deck. During our design consultation it became clear that the southwest windows made the back of the house unbearably hot in the warmer months. Keeping this mind we designed solar shades by extending the pergola over the windows, sheltering them from over 80% of the afternoon sun.
The result was a wonderful new deck covered by an intelligently placed pergola that extended the comfortable dinning season to early spring and late fall.
